The Chinese women's basketball team held a public training session at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Center. Head coach Xu Limin introduced the team's preparations for the previous stage and the upcoming Olympic sprint plan.

In the open training class, the Chinese women's basketball team conducted half-court offensive and defensive, group confrontation and other training subjects. The girls took every training content seriously and showed a good mental outlook and competitive state.

Xu Limin revealed that in the past few months of training, the Chinese women's basketball team has conducted targeted drills in technical and tactical areas, and the team's tacit understanding has been improved.

However, the objective reality lies ahead. The one-year postponement of the Olympic Games disrupted the team's preparation process and rhythm. The team encountered a problem that had never occurred before: it was unable to compete with international opponents for a long time and faced a greater unknown.

Xu Limin said: "In the past, warm-up matches with European and American teams were held every year to increase the experience of international competitions. However, now due to the epidemic, I can’t go out or come in. I can only practice against the men’s youth team to increase the intensity of confrontation. ."

The 12 Chinese women's basketball players in the Tokyo Olympics are: Pan Zhenqi, Wu Tongtong, Li Meng, Li Yuan, Wang Siyu, Sun Mengran, Huang Sijing, Li Yueru, Yang Liwei, Shao Ting, Zhang Ru, Han Xu.

Among them, Shao Ting, Sun Mengran and Huang Sijing have participated in the Rio Olympics, and the inside "Twin Towers" Han Xu and Li Yueru are the key to whether the Chinese team can go further in Tokyo.

At the Olympics, the Chinese women's basketball team was in the same group as Australia, Belgium, and Puerto Rico.

The Chinese women's basketball team had twice ascended the Olympic podium before, including runner-up in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, which is also the best record in team history so far.

According to the plan, the Chinese women's basketball team will set off for Tokyo on July 19.
