The Danish national team got a special start to the championship.

Christian Eriksen signed on the pitch in connection with the premiere match against Finland and the Danish players were shaken.

They then lost the match and followed up that defeat with zero points against Belgium.

But then they won the decisive match against Russia with an impressive 4-0 - and made it to the round of 16.

- Denmark should be praised for this entire European Championship.

Loses the first two matches, knows Eriksen's situation as well and they recover, says Glenn Strömberg in SVT's broadcast.

Denmark withdrew and the success continued in the playoffs.

In the quarterfinals, the red and whites defeated Wales 4-0 and in the quarterfinals they beat the Czech Republic 2-1.

- Dizzying and in many ways absolutely fantastic what a rise they make after what happened three and a half weeks ago, says Jonas Eriksson.

"Dizzying"

But in the semifinals it stopped.

The national team captain Kasper Hjulmand's men got off to a good start against England and took the lead with 1-0 in the 30th minute.

England equalized and the match went to extra time - where the British eventually won 2-1.

- This Danish team continues to impress in the European Championships, but there will be no final. It has been a thank you show for Denmark and we thank you for the entertainment, says Chris Härenstam.
