A sad end to Federer's tennis career at Wimbledon

Roger Federer, ranked eighth in the world and holder of the record for the number of titles in the Wimbledon Championships, ended his third Grand Slam quarter-finals with his loss on Wednesday to Polish 18th-ranked Hubert Hurkacz, 3-6, 6-7 (4-7) and zero- 6.

This was only the 14th loss for the eight-time title holder in 119 matches he played at Wimbledon, and the first in three sets without a response since his exit from the first round against Croatian Mario Ancic in 2002.
