The Emirates Football Association announced its contract with Hawk-Eye, a company specialized in video technology (VAR), as part of the association's efforts to develop the arbitration sector and advance it through the use of one of the world's largest known companies in the field of this technology. The Secretary-General of the Football Association, Mohammed bin Hazam, said in a press statement: “The connection with technology has become a necessity, as technical development helps in facing many challenges, including the football sector, and the Emirates Federation was a pioneer in employing advanced technology in its public services, and it was one of the first federations in The region that used video technology (VAR) in the field of arbitration.” He continued: "A few days ago, we used great expertise in the world of arbitration to develop the stadium judges system, because of our great belief in the importance of this sector, and today we are signing a partnership contract with one of the international companies specialized in video technology to provide a high-quality technical environment for stadium judges, helping them in their work."
He stressed that "there is great confidence in stadium judges, because they are able to manage the most difficult local, continental and international competitions and matches, and we are proud of the continuous successes of Emirati stadium judges in the world of arbitration, as they have earned the trust of the international continental football family," noting that the Federation puts every Its capabilities to support arbitration in order to achieve its goals and reach a very advanced level.
In turn, Hawk-Eye General Manager Ben Prossing said in a press statement: “We are pleased with this partnership with the Emirates Football Association, and we look forward to working on the application of VAR technology in local competitions, and we will work together to achieve our common ambitions to advance the game of football using technology. Which makes the game fairer.
