In future, the home of Eintracht will no longer be located in the literal sense of the word "in the heart of Europe", but also by post: the official inauguration of the new address in the city forest, not far from the Frankfurt soccer arena, took place on Monday lunchtime.

The club's new professional camp, which will be opened in a few weeks before the start of the upcoming Bundesliga season, will now have the address “In the heart of Europe”, the house number is 1.

Frankfurt City Councilor Mike Josef has never seen a street naming that is usually "just an administrative act" with so many spectators. A total of almost a hundred guests were present. In addition to the SPD politician, they included board spokesman Axel Hellmann, board member Oliver Frankenbach, supervisory board chairman Philip Holzer, president Peter Fischer, record Bundesliga player Karl-Heinz Körbel and professionals Timothy Chandler and Erik Durm.

“This is a great day for Eintracht Frankfurt. This step is unique and ensures that our employees move into their new home in August with even more motivation than they already have, ”said Hellmann. He couldn't think of a better name and I would like to thank the city for the quick and unanimous support in the past few months after the idea was approved in the local advisory council 5 (Niederrad, Oberrad, Sachsenhausen) in the winter.

The name of the address symbolizes the presence of the club and the region in Europe as well as the pro-European perspective that the club repeatedly makes clear through strong opinions on issues such as diversity, equality and inclusion. “We have made a powerful commitment to the European idea like no other club in recent years. We are also playing in Europe again this season. This street name fits the identity of the club like no other, ”said Hellmann.

The song “In the Heart of Europe” was played for the first time in 1997 in the former Waldstadion, which is now called “Deutsche Bank Park”. Since then it has developed into a club anthem that is played before every home game. In the professional camp, which should be ready for occupancy next month, the licensed player area and employees will be united under one roof.
