Russian high jumper Danil Lysenko has been suspended for six years for trying to deceive anti-doping authorities in detail, according to AP.

According to the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS), Lysenko has manipulated the anti-doping process and previous rulings in the case have shown that several within the Russian Federation have tried to cover up Lysenko's case.

“We welcome CAS 'decision on the matter.

We hope that the verdict will serve as a warning against all forms of cheating in our sport, says Brett Clothier, head of AIU, the unit for the integrity of athletics.

Danil Lysenko won World Cup silver 2018 and World Cup gold indoors the following year.
