According to reports, a group of five members of the Serbian Olympic delegation arrived at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on the evening of the 3rd. One of the athletes tested positive for the new crown virus at the airport.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan stated that the confirmed case had been sent to a nursing facility, and the remaining 4 people of the delegation were placed in an isolation facility near the airport because they may be close contacts.

It is reported that the Serbian delegation includes rowers, etc. They originally planned to go to Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture for pre-match training.

Previously, 1 of the 9 members of the Uganda Olympic delegation was diagnosed when they entered Japan, and the remaining 8 were not immediately identified as close contacts. Then another person was diagnosed after arriving at the training camp in Osaka.

In order to strengthen epidemic prevention measures, the Japanese government has since announced that it will implement "one-person infection and all-person quarantine" for foreign delegations, and directly identify close contacts at the airport.

According to Japanese media reports, from February to June this year, four Olympic-related personnel from France, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Ghana were diagnosed after arriving in Japan.
