Dura lex, sed lex.

The jury of the Tour de France commissioners did not make any feelings this Sunday.

Despite the cold and the rain, he did not pick up the seven riders who arrived late during the 9th stage, between Cluses and Tignes, in the Alps.

The French Arnaud Démare, Bryan Coquard and Anthony Delaplace, but also the South Africans Nicholas Dlamini and Stefan De Bod, the Italian Jacopo Guarnieri and the Belgian Loïc Vliegen will therefore not leave on Tuesday, the day after the rest day.

Other sprinters, such as the Briton Mark Cavendish and the German André Greipel, just like the Frenchman Nacer Bouhanni, have managed at the cost of enormous efforts to meet the deadlines which are calculated according to the difficulty of the course and the winner's average.

Three withdrawals and two non-starters this Sunday

Three riders gave up during this very trying stage and won by the Australian Ben O'Connor: the French Nans Peters (winner last year in Loudenvielle) and the Belgians Tim Merlier (winner of the stage in Pontivy last Monday ) and Jasper De Buyst.

The "stars" Primoz Roglic (injured) and Mathieu van der Poel (focused on the Olympic Games) had for their part given up taking the start in Cluses.
