Three weeks ago, he secured his first victory in Indycar after great drama in Detroit.

Today Marcus Ericsson was far ahead in the rankings again.

In Mid-Ohio, the Swede finished second in the race behind the American Josef Newgarden after a great drama.

Ericsson shrunk the distance up to Newgarden and in the end it was only a split second apart.

- I'm starting to show what I'm capable of, so I'm very happy, Ericsson says to Indycar's official channels afterwards.

This was the third podium of his career and second this season.

He is now fifth overall in the championship standings.

- It could not be better.

I'm not that far behind the riders in front of me.

I have very good momentum since the victory in Detroit, he says.

The Indicars series is now entering summer recess and the next competition will be run in August in Nashville.
