Rikako Ikee, a swimmer, participated in the women's 200-meter relay race as a member of the relay that entered the Tokyo Olympics, and showed a good finish in the swim that set a new Japanese record.

Among the Japanese national teams who are preparing for the Tokyo Olympics, on the 3rd, athletes who have entered the relay event of the Olympics participated in the tournament held in Sagamihara City.

Of these, Ikee participated in the women's 200m relay in a team with Chihiro Igarashi, Natsumi Sakai, and Rika Oomoto, who entered the women's 400m relay at the Olympic Games.

While Ikee is expected to play a role in expanding the lead in the first half, he was appointed as the second swimmer who can jump in with momentum in order to cover the delay from the start to the beginning, which is an issue.

In the race, I jumped smoothly according to the touch of the first swimmer Igarashi, showed a powerful swim, swam 50 meters in 24 seconds 82, and handed it over to the third swimmer Sakai.

The 200-meter relay is an event that will not be held at the Olympics, but the four people set a time of 1'39.82, breaking the Japanese record of 1'13.

For Ikee, it was the first record break in Japan since November 2018, before the announcement of leukemia.

Ikee "I'm very happy to set a new record in Japan for the first time in a long time."

Ikee said, "I'm very happy to set a new record in Japan for the first time in a long time. I think the results of practicing with four people have come out. I can always show my strength in relays, so I want to improve my time." I did.
