In a few weeks, the Olympics will start and the Swedish national handball team will load up with matches in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.

Sweden faced Russia on Saturday - and won 31-28.

The Swedes showed good form and had a result advantage in large parts of the match.

- There are two teams that have trained hard, it seemed.

We handled it in a good way and had a clear ambition to run and scored nine, ten goals on counterattacks and quick returns, it is very important for us, says Tomas Axnér according to the national handball team's website.

Russia took the lead, then Sweden switched up and in the half-time break they had a driver's seat with 15-13.

- I am very happy that we score 31 goals in Russia, but it was also possible because there were so many attacks when the match went at a high pace.

I also think that the solutions and agreements we had talked about in the defense worked well.

And then we had a really good edge game where all four put their positions.

Next match tomorrow

Jamina Roberts was noted for six goals - and two others who impressed were Nathalie Hagman and Jenny Carlson who scored five goals each.

- Then I want to highlight Jamina Roberts a little extra, she was the best on the field, says Axner.

Carlson is selected as a right winger, but also had to go down and substitute as a left winger.

- It is always positive before the Olympics to win over Russia because we also have them in the group, says Carlson.

Sweden will play its last rematch tomorrow, against the Netherlands at 18.15. The first Olympic match, where Spain is the opposition, is on July 25.
