The Lille industrial tribunal dismissed the former Losc coach Marcela Bielsa on Friday, who challenged a dismissal that he considered abusive, of all his requests, according to the judgment consulted by AFP.

Marcelo Bielsa, also ordered to pay 5,000 euros in procedural costs, has one month to appeal this decision.

Dismissed for serious misconduct in December 2017, the Argentine coach, now at the head of Leeds in the Premier League, claimed nearly 19 million euros from his former club in damages for unjustified and abusive breach of contract of work.

Bielsa believes he has been the victim of "harassment"

Interviewed by videoconference last February, Marcelo Bielsa was very offensive, denouncing in particular his bad relations with Luis Campos, adviser to the then president, Gérard Lopez.

"What I want to explain is the harassment that I suffered during the months of September and October before my dismissal in order to destabilize me to push me to resign, sabotage my management and obstruct my work, degrading my authority, ”he said.

If Marcelo Bielsa invoked the signing of a pre-contract on February 14, 2017 with a clause that implied the payment of the remaining salaries in the event of early termination, the industrial tribunal ruled that it is the contract dating from July 1, 2017 prevailing.

Relief for the Losc

He also ruled that the invitation to an interview prior to a possible dismissal had been made and found the serious fault. "I think it is a fair decision", reacted to AFP the lawyer of Losc, Me Bertrand Wambeke.

Marcelo Bielsa's lawyer, Me Benjamin Cabagno, was not immediately available to comment on this judgment and give his position on a possible appeal.

This decision is a relief for the northern club, champion of France in May but in financial difficulty.

Owner since January, the investment fund Merlyn Partners injected 50 million euros in January to avoid a suspension of payments.

Lille also let their coach Christophe Galtier leave for Nice only against compensation estimated at 3 million euros and resumed training without having named his replacement.
