American Salerno returns to lead the Syrian basketball in the Asian finals

The Syrian Basketball Association announced that it has signed American coach Joseph Salerno to take over the technical leadership of the Basketball Eagles in the Asian finals, which will be hosted by the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, next August. Last March led him in the second window of the continental qualifiers.

The director of the Syrian national team, Tarif Qutrash, confirmed that the American Salerno is one of the most important coaches who have a scientific strategy in training, commensurate with each match according to the existing data.

In the statement of the Syrian Basketball Federation, Qutrash said: "Salerno has a good relationship with the players, in addition to his harmony and cooperation with everyone," noting that the new contract for the American coach continues until the end of the Asian Championship in Indonesia.

It is noteworthy that American coach Joseph Salerno began his career in 2008, and two years later became the first coach of the Canadian “Vermont Frost Heaves” team, before moving to “Summer Side” on a trip that lasted between 2011 and 2017, and he won with him the award for best coach in the Canadian League in 2013. And he followed it up by moving to the technical management of the "Moncton Magic" team, which won the Canadian League title in 2019, in a march during which he won again the title of best coach in 2019 and 2020.
