In early April, everything turned black.

Marcus Kinhult was in the middle of a conversation with his partner Agnes when he suffered several seizures and was taken urgently to hospital where he was later diagnosed with epilepsy.

It was also there that the 24-year-old decided not to stress back to golf, but to take it step by step and let it take the time it takes.

Now, however, he is back.

Started well

After last week's competition in Halmstad, Kinhult is part of the starting field in the European Tour competition in Ireland - and on the Mount Juliet course outside Kilkenny, he has got off to a good start.

- I started surprisingly well in the long game and then I "scramble" together the last half of the lap.

But I also put some good putts, says Kinhult to the magazine Svensk Golf.

The newspaper asks Kinhult how it feels to be back and play.

- Very fun of course and very grateful.

That ... we'll see how long it lasts, but now that I've been away from it for a while, it's extra fun to make birdies and it hurts less with bogeys.

I know how painful it is to lie on the couch and not be able to participate, he says.

- I'm not completely fantastic in the body but it is completely okay, it is "good enough".

I have Pierre here, my fitness trainer.

We drive every day and it goes in the right direction so I'm not so worried about the body.

It may be 70-80% now.

Before the injury, it was probably 90, so there is not much difference and everyone out here has small flaws here and there.

"Satisfied"

Marcus Kinhult needed 68 strokes to get around the first round, which means four under par and a shared 18th place.

- I'm happy with the day, really.

It was beyond my expectations and I look forward to tomorrow and hopefully meeting the qualifying limit.

Golf is fun again and I am so grateful to be able to participate, he says to Swedish Golf.
