Sweden started the eighth against Ukraine offensively, but it would take about 20 minutes before they created their sharpest goal chance.

After a short tussle with the defender, Dejan Kulusevski finally tucked the ball home.

But the ball went just outside.

However, it would be a cold shower for Blågult.

After just over 30 minutes of play, Oleksandr Zinchenkoin thumped 1-0.

Then Emil Forsberg stepped forward

Just before half time, "Foppa" scored his fourth goal in the championship when his shot was guided, via a Ukrainian leg, into goal.

The late equalizer made the break easier for Sweden.

Forsberg was also the main character in the second half.

He repeatedly created dangerous goal chances.

But the crossbar and the post put an end to a Swedish lead goal.

- Forsberg does exactly what he wants, he plays with them, says TV4's expert Hasse Backe during the broadcast.

Despite Sweden's massive pressure, they could not get the ball into goal and the eighth went to extra time.

Once there, it became a nightmare for Sweden.

In the first overtime quarter, Marcus Danielson punched Ukrainian Artem Besedin on the knee.

After the situation was videotaped, the referee showed the red card.

With just minutes left in the final overtime quarter, Ukraine put it 2-1.

Sweden is thus eliminated from the European Championships.
