Two losses in the group were enough for Sweden.

Before the round of 16, Italy was a stronger team on paper than Sweden, but it was the blue and yellows who took the baton immediately.

Against Belarus in the last group game, not much worked - but Sweden managed to recharge their batteries.

And today most things worked.

The Swedes were strong under the baskets and offered an attacking game that has not been seen in the tournament so far for the Swedish part.

- There was not much time to prepare from yesterday's match, but today it is.

The defense is phenomenal, says SVT Sports expert Elisabeth Egnell.

Something that paid off.

Before the second half, Sweden had a 30-20 lead and after the first half, Kalis Loyd was satisfied with his effort.

- It's very good right now.

We have made adjustments and we come out more aggressive, we try to push them and force them to bad ends and be really hard.

We get to fight a little extra today and I am happy to do that, says Loyd to SVT Sport.

"It's goosebumps here"

The second half started with strong Italian pressure.

But there was nothing that the Swedish camp could not handle.

Despite the fact that Italy had picked up the pace and entered the match, they never had a real chance against the Swedes.

Who eventually won.

The strongest scorer was Frida Eldebrink with her 19 points.

Despite the fact that Frida Eldebrink put everything all evening, it was a lot about Emma Johansson.

The 17-year-old started for the first time so far in the championship, and showed a mature style of play despite his young age.

She also showed that she keeps the measure to play at the very highest level against some of the world's very best players.

- It's goosebumps here, says Egnell.

In the quarterfinals on June 23, Sweden will face Belarus.
