England, Slovakia and the Czech Republic can join the countries qualified for the knockout stages of Euro 2020 this Friday if they win against Scotland and Sweden respectively.

Croatia, finalist of the last World Cup, faces the Czech Republic to revive in Group D.

Who will validate their ticket for the knockout stages of Euro 2020?

After Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, three other nations have the opportunity to qualify for the next round of the competition on Friday.

First, the surprising team from Slovakia, winner of Poland in Group E, can do it again against Sweden in St. Petersburg (3 p.m.).

Another nation that started well with three points, England will try to get rid of their Scottish rival at home at Wembley to continue their European adventure (21 hours).

At the end of the afternoon, Croatia, vice-world champion, is in danger and must move forward against the Czech Republic, in a position to qualify for the eighth after their inaugural victory against Scotland (0 -2).

Information to remember:

  • England, Slovakia and Czech Republic can qualify as of Friday

  • Moscow closes its fan-zone because of a resurgence of the Covid

Slovakia, to renew the experience

It was not the most anticipated nation in Group E, but Slovakia can already qualify for the round of 16 of the Euro by winning against Sweden on Friday in St. Petersburg.

The teammates of Marek Hamsik, former player of Naples and pillar of the Slovakian selection at 33, created a small sensation against Poland (1-2).

The Slovaks want to surf on this good result to once again find the round of 16 of the competition, as in 2016. For that, an imperative victory against Sweden, which offered a timid face against Spain on the first day of matches.

Croatia, to re-mobilize

Disappointing against England last Sunday (1-0 defeat), Croatia must revive in Glasgow against the Czech Republic to hope to get out of Group D. Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric or Inter Milan striker Ivan Perisic appeared without creativity against the Three Lions.

The vice-world champions will want to re-mobilize themselves by playing more effective football against the Czech Republic, which has shown all its qualities for its entry into the running.

Patrik Schick's double, including an exceptional 45-meter lob, impressed spectators and football fans alike.

The Croats will have to pull out all the stops to win at the end of the afternoon.

England-Scotland, for history

This is undoubtedly the poster for the eighth day of Euro 2020. England receives Scotland in its Wembley setting in London for a British derby steeped in history. It is the biggest international rivalry between two nations which had met for the first time in 1872. For the 115th confrontation a century and a half later, the English led by the striker Harry Kane leave favorites thanks to a successful performance on the first day against Croatia (1-0). Andy Robertson's Scotland is already playing for survival after a difficult defeat against the Czech Republic at home (0-2). A poster that also promises in the stands: despite a gauge of 25% of spectators (22,500 seats), the atmosphere is likely tobe electric at Wembley between neighboring rivals.

Moscow closes its fan-zone

The city of Moscow announced Friday to close its Euro football fan-zone and to ban any entertainment event bringing together more than 1,000 people due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.

"We are stopping mass entertainment events for a while, and we must also close the dance halls and the fan-zone for a while" at the Luzhniki Olympic complex, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his website.
