The two best teams in the six European Championship groups (A – F) make it to the quarter-finals, which begin on Midsummer's Day.

The four best of the six group threes also advance among the 16 teams that are allowed to play knockout matches in the football championship.

Sweden has a top 2 place in Group E after 0-0 against Spain in Seville on Monday and 1-0 against Slovakia in St. Petersburg on Friday.

But Wednesday's final round in the group, when Blågult will face Poland in St. Petersburg and Slovakia will face Spain in Sevilla, could be a thriller if several teams, for example, turn out to end up with four points when the group is summed up.

Spain and Poland meet before that in Seville tomorrow, Saturday.

Here are two scenarios that Sweden may end up in on Wednesday:

If two or more teams have the same number of points when the group game is finished, the following applies to differentiation:

+ Most number of points obtained in matches between the current teams.

+ Goal difference in matches between the current teams.

+ Most goals scored in matches between the current teams.

If it is still not possible to distinguish laws according to this model, the following applies:

+ Goal difference in all group matches.

+ Most goals scored in all group matches.

+ Most number of victories in all group matches.

+ Minimum number of disciplinary points based on red and yellow cards received in all group matches.

Red card gives 3 points, yellow card gives 1 point and two yellow cards that lead to expulsion in a match give 3 points.

+ Ranking in the European Championship qualifiers.

If two teams - with the same points, the same number of goals scored and goals conceded - play against each other in the last group game match and the teams cannot be separated after the last match, penalties will be resorted to.

This determines which teams will be the four best three (out of six teams) and thus advance to the round of 16:

+ Most number of points.

+ Best goal difference.

+ Most number of goals scored.

+ Most number of victories.

+ Minimum number of disciplinary points based on red and yellow cards received in all group matches.

Red card gives 3 points, yellow card gives 1 point and two yellow cards that lead to expulsion in a match give 3 points.

+ Ranking in the European Championship qualifiers.
