Italy got off to a flying start against Switzerland, who were initially under heavy pressure.

And it was not long before Italy broke the deadlock - everyone thought.

Chiellini put the ball in goal from close range after a corner, but after the Italian goal celebration, VAR ruled out the goal after handball on just Chiellini.

Who shortly afterwards had to change after an injury.

- All cases are reviewed by VAR.

Handball is not intentional, but because it leads to goals, it is ruled out.

It is correct to rule out the case, says referee expert Jonas Eriksson in SVT's studio.

Instead, 1-0 came in the 26th minute of the match when Manuel Locatelli took a 60-meter run into a free space and set up the lead goal.

Locatelli two-goal shooter

In the second half, it took barely six minutes before Italy doubled their lead - again this time through Locatelli, who got the ball a bit outside the penalty area and put it 2-0 with a well-placed shot in the low corner.

Here, Locatelli becomes a two-goal shooter

It was not Switzerland tonight, who had a hard time creating the really hot goal chances.

The closest was Zuber, who in the 64th minute of the match got to a sharp finish from a less good angle.

But Donnarumma kept close in the goal.

86 minutes into the game, Locatelli had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury.

And shortly after that, the last goal of the match came through striker Ciro Immobile.

3-0 was the final result and the victory means that Italy has secured its place in the round of 16 with one match left of the group stage.
