Carl Söderberg back to Malmö

The decision to move home has been growing for a long time, Söderberg tells the club's website.

Söderberg has been away from the club for ten years, of which nine years have been spent in North America and the NHL.

There he has represented the Boston Bruins, Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks and Colorado Avalanche.

This is where I grew up and I look forward to playing in front of fans, friends and family again, says Söderberg.

Söderberg has played 643 games in the NHL and averaged half a point per game.

It will be a heavy reinforcement for Malmö in the SHL.

- The player Carl Söderberg is top class, he is very well trained and in my book he is one of SHL's foremost, says Malmö Redhawks sports manager, Patrik Sylvegård.

- I think we have the chance to win with the Redhawks, which would be fantastic, says Söderberg himself.
