Neftçi, a strong player in the Azerbaijan 1st division league, to which Keisuke Honda, a former Japan national football team, belongs, has announced that his contract with Honda has ended.
In March, 35-year-old Honda, who has participated in the World Cup as a representative of Japan for three consecutive tournaments, joined Neftçi, the first division league based in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, from the middle of the season.
Honda participated in seven games and scored two goals, and the team won the league title.
Neftçi announced on the official website on the 16th that the contract with Honda has ended.
Neftçi commented, "I am grateful for the success of the world-famous Japanese player and wish him the best of luck in his future career."
