Learn about the Asian teams qualified for the World Cup qualifiers... and an important Arab presence

Among 12 Asian teams to be in the decisive round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, at the end of the second round. The draw for the decisive round will be held on the first of next July, to distribute the 12 teams into two groups from which the five qualified teams will appear for the World Cup.


According to the Asian system, the first and second place in each group will be promoted directly to the 2022 World Cup, while the third place in the two groups will play a play-off to determine the team that faces the fifth (CONCACAF) in a playoff match. Six Arab teams succeeded in reaching the decisive role: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Oman and Lebanon, while Qatar qualified in advance as the host of the World Cup.
