Denmark's soccer star Christian Eriksen has addressed the public for the first time since his collapse on Saturday night.

“Thank you very much for your lovely and great greetings and messages from all over the world.

That means a lot to me and my family, ”wrote the 29-year-old Inter Milan playmaker in an Instagram message that the Danish Association also published on Tuesday morning.

The message also includes a photo of Eriksen smiling and thumbs up in his hospital bed.

“I'm fine - under these circumstances,” Eriksen continued.

“I still have to go through some hospital exams, but I feel okay.

Now I will cheer with the guys from the Danish team at the next games.

Everyone plays for Denmark! ”He concluded his contribution.

Eriksen collapsed on the pitch on Saturday evening during the European Championship preliminary round match between Denmark and Finland (0-1) just before the end of the first half.

Emergency doctors and paramedics saved his life with chest compressions.

The cause of the collapse is currently just as unclear as the question of whether the Danish top star will suffer long-term health damage.

In the meantime, hundreds of people in the center of Copenhagen have painted a white wall with graffiti and wishes for him well in the past few days. The wall is littered with greetings for several meters. It was built on Ofelia Square near the famous Nyhavn harbor in the Danish capital, where it borders one of the fan zones at this European Championship venue.
