12,000 spectators at Hampden Park in Glasgow saw Scotland lose in their European Championship premiere.

In a rolling match, it was the Czechs who stood for efficiency and won 2-0.

And the Czech Republic can thank attacking star Patrik Schick for the dream start to the championship for them.

Schick accounted for both goals, the second of which was of the highest class.

Crazy goal

1-0 came in the first half.

Schick reached the top of a post in a duel with two Scottish defenders and was able to nod in one.

The second was all the more spectacular.

The Czech Republic broke on their own half of the field and switched immediately.

The ball went to Schick who on the first strike went on shots from half a field.

The finish sailed over David Marshall and all the way into the Scottish goal.

A perfect start to the championship for the Czech Republic, which will face Croatia next.

For Scotland, who made their first major championship match in 23 years, now awaits a tough match against neighbor England (who won against Croatia in their first match).
