Ruud Vormer will remain loyal to Club Brugge for the time being.

The 33-year-old captain signed a new contract until mid-2023 on Monday.

Vormer has been playing for Club Brugge since 2014.

The midfielder, who previously played for AZ, Roda JC and Feyenoord, won four national titles with the club, once the Belgian cup and twice the Belgian super cup.

The four-time international of Orange already has 317 matches for Club Brugge to his name.

In 2017 he won the Golden Shoe.

Vormer extended the title with Club Brugge last season, which means that after the summer he will play in the Champions League with his team.

The new season starts for Club Brugge on 17 July with the battle for the supercup against the KRC Genk of trainer John van den Brom.

A week later, the Jupiler Pro League will start.
