You have to wait and see how the tournament develops.

The big nations in particular have players with them for whom the load was extremely high recently.

I remember the Champions League and Europa League tournaments last summer, which was seamlessly followed by the season in which many were also challenged internationally, for example again in the Champions League or the Europa League.

    There were few breaks overall.

So I think there might be a surprise too.

What do you expect from the German team?

    Test matches shouldn't be overrated.

The fact is: we have a very good team.

Every player in the German team naturally wants to become European champion, and it is also Jogi Löw's last tournament, and many players have had a successful time with him and want to give him a fitting farewell.

With Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels there are two other players who became world champions with him, so I believe that this bond definitely plays a role.

In what ways is this European Championship interesting for your club?

Because the best players from Europe play there.

When the best teams meet, it's always interesting to see which players shape the games.

Normally, if there wasn't a pandemic, I would of course have watched a few games on site in the stadium.

Due to the special corona conditions, we now have to clarify whether and how this is possible.

At the moment I am still avoiding trips that don't have to be.

If money is not an issue, which EM player would you sign and why?

    Kylian Mbappé.

You'd have to scout it more closely, but I don't think it's that bad (laughs).

With all the love for football - has not the limit for players and consumers been reached long ago?

We have to be careful with the strain on the boys. I last saw it in Leipzig, where they played practically two seasons in a row, and many players played an average of 50 games in the season. In addition, the national players sometimes had to play up to three games during their international breaks, and the travel itself is a factor that should not be underestimated. After the European Championships there will be the Olympics, some of them will be gone in July and August. Then there is hardly any winter break. In general, the season, which starts in August, will again take place very compressed, because of the World Cup in 2022. The players are at their limit. We have to take into account that regeneration is not neglected.
