Wales surprised a lot in the European Championship 2016. They won the group before England and then went all the way to a semifinal.

Today they started this year's EC with a point after 1-1 against Switzerland.

Wales was pushed back early and had difficulty creating any dangers.

Switzerland, on the other hand, created all the more, and it was in fixed situations that the most dangerous situations emerged.

But the goals in the first half were missed, as well as a potential penalty.

The Swiss called for punishment after a proper shirt pull on Breel Embolo.

However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.

- Sadly enough, it might have looked different if he had fallen.

He is big and strong and stands still, says TV4's expert Lotta Schelin.

It was also on a solid situation that the Swiss' redemptive 1-0 goal came.

Embolo stayed ahead and nodded in Xherdan Shaqiri's corner at the start of the second half.

Wales, however, grew into the match and with just over 20 minutes left to play, championship debutant Kieffer Moore equalized, on a daily basis in the Championship team Cardiff City.

Even that goal on the nod.

Despite a number of goal chances in both directions, it was 1-1.

Thus, the first round in group A is finished.

Italy, who won 3-0 against Turkey in the premiere, tops the group.
