Things are going (a little) better at Nîmes Olympique.

The Gard club, relegated to Ligue 2, had been plagued for several weeks by a conflict between the president, Rani Assaf, and the association, in charge of the amateur section, in particular on the issue of the training center, the former of which wanted happen, deeming it too expensive.

The tension was such that on May 21, the employees of the professional section had received an email from their boss and majority shareholder, in which he indicated his desire to withdraw from the club.

A prospect that would have led the club to the edge of the abyss.

"Preparing serenely for the future"

Finally, Thursday morning, in a "joint press release", the SASP (the Nîmes Olympique trading company) and the association said they had agreed "on the combined budget that will be presented to the DNCG [the National Control Directorate of management, the gendarme of French football] in the coming days ”.

And this, "in the best interests of Nîmes Olympique and in order to calmly prepare for the future".

The two parties indicate that they "will continue to work together, within the limits of their respective prerogatives, to make the club grow and anchor it in the elite".

However, the press release does not specify the details of this ceasefire.
