On Thursday morning, Denmark presented its plan to reopen society after the pandemic closure.

The Danish government has received support from several other parties in the Folketing regarding an increase in the audience ceiling, from 15,900 to 25,000, in the upcoming European Championship play-off matches to be arranged at the Park in Copenhagen.

Health Minister Magnus Heunicke (S) justifies the increase by saying that the country has control of the pandemic and that the infection rates are low.

- Denmark has made a great effort to come here, he says about the country which has been closed for periods.

The Danish Football Association says, however, that they cannot raise the audience ceiling for Denmark's European Championship premiere against Finland on Saturday night.

- The answer is unfortunately no.

We can not do that before the Finland match.

Hopefully we can do that in the next two matches.

It must be remembered that the stadium is currently arranged so that the people sit on every other chair, says the association's managing director Jakob Jensen to Danish TV2.

After the meeting with Finland, Denmark will meet Belgium and Russia at the Park in Group B. If Sweden finishes second in Group E, the team will play the round of 16 at the Park on 28 June against the second in Group D.

A prerequisite for entering the Park as a spectator during the European Championships is a valid corona pass. The arena has a total capacity of 38,000.
