The Tokyo Olympic torch relay in Akita Prefecture arrived on the night of the 9th at the ski resort in Kazuno, the final goal, ending the two-day schedule with 180 runners.

The Holy Fire Relay in Akita Prefecture started in Katagami City on the 9th of the second day, visited Hachirogata Town, Ogata Village, Noshiro City, Odate City, and Oga City, and became the final goal point of "Hanawa Ski Area" in Kazuno City. After 8 pm, the holy fire arrived.



A ceremony was held at the special venue, and about 90 people who applied in advance to prevent infection with the new coronavirus gathered.



Junko Asari, a native of Kazuno City, who participated in the Atlanta Olympics Women's Marathon, who served as the final runner, lit the torch from the torch and connected 180 runners from 14 cities, towns and villages in Akita Prefecture. The torch relay has finished all the dates.



The torch relay will be handed over to Aomori Prefecture from the 10th.



Mr. Asari said, "The torch was heavy, but I was impressed and ran. I want you to continue to connect the torch with a bright smile after tomorrow."



A woman in her thirties who watched over the arrival said, "I was impressed by the presence. It is a difficult time due to the corona, but I hope it will be an Olympic Games that gives courage and hope."
