On Sunday, Sifan Hassan first broke Almaz Ayana's record from 2016 in Dutch Hengelo.

Yesterday, Letesenbet Gidey in turn broke Hassan's new record when she ran 29.01.03 - five seconds faster than Hassan.

That race was also in Hengelo when the Ethiopian Olympic competitions were held there.

In a few days, the record has been polished by about 15 seconds and when Hassan held a press conference today before tomorrow's Diamond League gala in Florence, she was asked if it was due to the new debated "super shoes".

She did not appreciate that.

- What's wrong with you?

Move on!

It's a new generation.

Relax, stop complaining, be happy and have a good time, she says and continues her reasoning:

- If it is the shoes that decide, we can only let the shoes run.

I do not know why people go crazy with technology.

Everyone has a new phone.

Before, no one had a phone.

Should we go back to just having radio?
