The Australian softball team, who is holding a preliminary training camp in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture for the Tokyo Olympics, played their first practice match with a domestic team on the 7th.

Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, has become the host town of Australia for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and softball players have been staying there since June 1 for a preliminary training camp.

The players started the whole practice at the stadium in Ota City on the 5th, and on the 7th, they invited the club team in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture to play the practice game for the first time.

According to the city, the players on the club team have been tested by PCR by the 6th, and all have been confirmed to be negative.

The match was held privately with the intention of the Australian national team to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, and some people visited outside the stadium to see the players at a glance.

A man in his 80s in Ota said, "I wanted to see it closer because it was a big deal. I would be happy if 100 or 200 people could come in. I want you to fight Japan in the final at the Olympics." I did.

In the future, Ota City wants to take measures to prevent infection so that citizens can view it at the stand.
