Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay's Choi Ji-man has been placed on the IL, a 10-day disabled list with a left groin sprain.

Tampa Bay listed Choi Ji-man in the IL, and Choi explained in a video interview that "it is not a serious injury."

Choi Ji-man said, "I felt pain in the left groin, but I think I will recover quickly. I have heard positive things from the doctor. I can recover in 10 days, but the team gives me enough time. Thank you for your consideration."

Choi Ji-man first felt uncomfortable while defending first base in an away game against the New York Yankees on the 1st.

On the 3rd, I played as a pinch hitter against the Yankees and hit an infield hit next to second baseman, and I felt the condition was more serious this time.

Choi Ji-man said, "I think I felt pain because the weather was still cold. My right knee is not perfect, so it may be that the left muscle is overworked," he diagnosed the cause of the injury.

Last month, just before the start of the regular season, Choi underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove a piece of cartilage in the knee joint and necrotic tissue in the meniscus.

Since then, Choi Ji-man, who registered for active duty entry on the 16th of last month, made a big hit with two home runs and 11 RBIs in a batting average of 3/4.

Choi Ji-man was put on the injured list again due to the aftermath of knee surgery, but the injury is not serious, so he is expected to return in ten to fifteen days.
