The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will be held in Ishikawa Prefecture from the 31st to the 2nd.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, relays on public roads will be canceled, and on the 31st, only the ignition ceremony will be held at "Kanazawa Castle Park Sannomaru Square" in Kanazawa City.

Initially, the torch relay in Ishikawa Prefecture was planned to connect 19 cities and towns with about 190 runners, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus, all relays on public roads were canceled.

As an alternative event, on the 31st of the first day, the torch ignition ceremony will be held from 3:00 pm at "Kanazawa Castle Park Sannomaru Square" in Kanazawa City, which was scheduled for the goal point.

The ceremony will invite runners who were scheduled to run in 10 cities and towns on the 31st, and a "torch kiss" will be held on the stage where the runners will transfer the torch to the next runner.

The ceremony will be held without the general public and will be broadcast on the Internet.
