Mozgov joined the expanded composition of the Russian national team to prepare for qualification for the Olympic Games

The expanded application of 22 players included:

- defenders: Evgeny Baburin, Artyom Komolov, Ivan Strebkov (all - Nizhny Novgorod), Ivan Ukhov (CSKA), Dmitry Khvostov (Zenit), Mikhail Kulagin (Enisey), Grigory Motovilov (Lokomotiv-Kuban ), Anton Kardanakhishvili, Yuri Umrikhin (both - CSKA-2), Dmitry Kulagin;

- forwards: Semyon Antonov, Nikita Kurbanov (both - CSKA), Anton Kvitkovskikh (Avtodor), Andrey Zubkov (Zenit), Andrey Vorontsevich, Anton Astapkovich (both - Nizhny Novgorod), Evgeny Valiev (Khimki ), Philip Gafurov (CSKA-2);

- centers: Joel Bolomboy (CSKA), Stepan Gontar (Nizhny Novgorod), Vladimir Ivlev (Parma), Timofey Mozgov (Khimki).

The Olympic qualifying tournament will be held from June 29 to July 4 in Split, Croatia.

The Russian national team will play in the group stage of selection with the teams of Mexico and Germany, while Croatia, Brazil and Tunisia will meet in the parallel group.

The top two teams will continue to fight for the only Olympic ticket in the semifinals and finals. 

Earlier it was reported that Alexey Shved will not play for the Russian national basketball team in qualifying for the Olympic Games.
