Egypt's Zamalek crowned the African Basketball Championship

 Egypt’s Zamalek won the African Men’s Basketball Club Cup for the second time in its history, after winning 76/63 against the Tunisian Federation of Monastir today, Sunday, in the final match of the continental competition, hosted by the Rwandan capital Kigali.

The match, which was attended by Rwandan President Paul Kagame, began actively by the Monastir Union, which advanced by 10 points in the first minutes of the first period, before Zamalek quickly regained its balance and reduced the difference to only 4 points, ending the period with the Tunisian team advancing 22/17.

The Monastir Union expanded the difference at the beginning of the second period to 7 points, but Zamalek rose up in the following minutes of the period, which witnessed its advance in the result for the first time, to finally settle it in its favour, with a score of 44/42.

Zamalek continued their superiority in the result during the third period, as the difference reached 5 points, before the white team ended the period ahead of the Tunisian team 55/51.

The beginning of the fourth period witnessed a remarkable brilliance from Zamalek player Solo Diabati, who scored three three-pointers, to expand the white dress difference to 12 points with 4 minutes remaining.

The Monastir Union tried to return to the meeting again, but Walter Hodge and Omar Hisham scored a hat-trick for Zamalek in a timely manner, so that Zamalek finally decided the match in its favor by 13 points and regained the championship that had been absent from its coffers since its only title in 1992.
