It was during Saturday's qualifier for the Italian GP on the Mugello track outside Florence that Moto3 driver Jason Dupasquier crashed hard along with two other drivers.
Moto3 is the class below Moto2 and one of the entry classes to the largest class, MotoGP.
The race was red-flagged, and after being treated by the track's medical team for 30 minutes, Dupasquier was flown by ambulance helicopter to the hospital in Florence.
But despite the great efforts of the hospital staff, his life could not be saved.
