Johaug tried to pass the Olympic qualifying limit of 10,000 meters in early May.

The ski queen ran to the finish line on the personal record of 31.32.88 and missed the qualifying time by just under eight seconds.

The 32-year-old is now invited to run half the distance in the Diamond League competition in Norway.

"She is considering competing"

Running coach Jack Waitz and Johaug trained together before the 10,000 meter race this spring and according to him they have discussed 5000 meters.

- She still focuses on the Winter Olympics in Beijing, but she is definitely considering competing, Waitz tells VG.

Waitz believes that longer distances suit Johaug better and that she will be pitted against runners of a completely different class at Bislett.

- It will be a battle against the clock, and what is possible to achieve we have not talked about yet, he says.
