Allegri as Juventus coach after Pirlo's mission ends

Several Italian media reported today that the Italian Juventus board of directors has taken the decision to dismiss its coach Andrea Pirlo and will use the services of his former coach Massimiliano Alegre, who led him to win the local title five times in five seasons at the helm of the coaching staff.

The Old Lady's club has not issued any official statement until now, but the newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" and the Italian "Sky" network confirmed that Alegre, who was negotiating with Real Madrid to succeed Frenchman Zinedine Zidane after the latter's resignation today, agreed to return to Juventus.

Alegre led Juventus to win the league title five times in a row from 2014 to 2019 and to the Champions League final twice in 2015 and 2017, and lost them to Barcelona and Real Madrid, Spain, respectively.

Allegri, 53, has not supervised any team since his dismissal from Juventus in 2019, when he was succeeded by Maurizio Sarri and then Andrea Pirlo Toualia.
