Jenny Rissveds, bicycle, Michelle Coleman, swimming and Oskar Rozenberg Hallberg, skateboard, were some of the names that were chosen for this summer's Olympics in Tokyo.

But for long-distance runners Charlotta Fougberg, David Nilsson, Hanna Lindholm and Mustafa Mohamed, a summer without competitors awaits in Japan.

Despite the fact that all have passed the qualifying limit.

This is confirmed by Ulf Friberg, national team coach and "Musses" coach, for SVT Sport.

- It is a great disappointment that the only country in the world does not take out active people who have passed the qualifying limit.

In Mustafa's and Charlotte's case, they have passed it twice, in a branch that you may compete in maybe a maximum of twice in a year, says Friberg and continues:

- Other countries and competitors shake their heads and wonder what it is we are doing.

They are active who are deprived of perhaps one of their greatest sports experiences that can be had.

"Poor communication"

"Mickey" also criticizes SOK, the Swedish Olympic Committee, and their strategy regarding Olympic competitions.

- It is very sad, you send the wrong signals.

There has been very poor communication from SOK in general.

I have not yet heard anything from SOK that I will not come to the Olympics, it is only via rumor.

The communication has been lousy, he says.

What does it mean to you, to miss the Olympics?

- For me, it does not matter so much for my investment, I do it because it is fun and I am still 42 years old now.

I have already been to the Olympics twice.

It's just fun to run and keep this level.

The only long-distance runner selected for the Tokyo Olympics is Carolina Wikström, who is thus making her Olympic debut.

SVT Sport is looking for Peter Reinebo, SOK's operations manager.

for a comment.
