Newcomer Kazakhstan from the B-WC continues to surprise.

In the meeting with Germany, which tops the group, the team took the third victory out of four possible in the tournament.

After a quick change, as so many times before in the match, Alexander Shin charged and sent off one of the tournament's harder shots that found its way behind German goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger.

Three minutes later came the next projectile, when Tom Kühnhackl equalized for the Germans with a shot that was a bit sharper - and harder.

It did not take long for the Germans to celebrate again, but it came to an abrupt end after Kazakhstan's national team captain Yuri Mikhailis chose to challenge the goal due to a suspected offside.

The referees gave Mikhailis the right, but when it was time for a coach's challenge again a couple of minutes later, it was not as successful an outcome for the Kazakhs, when Germany's 2-1 goal stood.

This after another delicate offside situation.

In the third, however, the Kazakhs turned.

First came 2-2 after an icy penalty by captain Roman Starchenko, and with four minutes left, a free-kick Pavel Akolzin scored the decisive 3-2 goal.
