“Contrary to their own assurances a week ago about the full legitimacy of the use of the Russian state flag when decorating the streets of the capital, the city authorities of Riga decided, without intelligible arguments, to dismantle it and replace it with the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee,” the message on Facebook says.
The Russian diplomatic service asked the question, in connection with what this decision was made.
"What is it - the inability to keep your word and defend your own principles, banal inconsistency or provocative trick for the sake of momentary political conjuncture?"

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation, said that Moscow does not agree with such a decision if the area does not belong to the venue of the competition.
