Damkronorna's national team captain Ulf Lundberg has taken out the new squad and is gathering for the first time since December, and is preparing for the first international matches since November last year.

The international matches against Denmark in Copenhagen are preparatory for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers before the Olympics in Beijing.

The Olympic qualifiers will be decided in November and Sweden will play in Luleå, where they will meet France, Slovakia and another nation.

The group winner goes on to the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

The Swedish squad includes four players each from the Swedish Championship final teams Brynäs and Luleå.

Among others Brynäs Josefin Bouveng and Luleå's Johanna Fällman.

HV71 also has four players in the squad, where also the trio Emma Söderberg (goalkeeper), Jessica Adolfsson (back) and forward Sara Hjalmarsson play college hockey in North America.

- A large part of the squad have just returned from a really good Olympic camp, we are very much looking forward to this collection with ice, physique and international matches.

Since this is the first gathering since December and the first international matches since November, it goes without saying that every day is important on the way to the Olympic qualifiers, says national team captain Ulf Lundberg to the ice hockey association's website.
