He had been in charge of Lille since December 2017.

At 54, the coach, just crowned best coach of the season for the traditional UNFP trophies, said he did not want to "fall into a routine", assuring that he would have made the same choice without the new financial situation of the northern club, which changed owners during the winter break. 

Solicited by "about five" clubs

"The quality of the squad for next season or the economic situation of the club is not linked to my departure. It is linked to myself. Over the last four seasons, I feel that this is the moment", he continued. 

The former Saint-Etienne coach has confirmed that he has been approached by "about five" clubs, including OL, Nice and Napoli, which are the three clubs that interest him.

He said he believed he could sign at one of those stables before the end of the week.

"I did not sign with anyone and did not get along with anyone. My firm conviction is that I must stop with the Losc," explained the coach.
