An athletics competition was held in Kitakyushu City, and Yuki Yamazaki scored 5975 points in the women's heptathlon, breaking the Japanese record for the first time in 17 years.

Yamazaki finished the 4th event in the first half of the 22nd with 3381 points, and on the 23rd, he increased his score by marking 6 meters 1 cm in the long jump, 48 meters 62 cm in the javelin throw, and 2 minutes 13 seconds 95 in the 800 meters.



The total score for the two days was 5975 points, which was the first time in 17 years to update the 5692 points marked by Aki Nakada in 2004.
