The Tokyo Olympic Torch Relay will be held in Okayama Prefecture from the 19th to the 2nd.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, relays on public roads will be stopped and only the ignition ceremony will be held.

Initially, the torch relay in Okayama Prefecture was planned to connect 12 cities and towns with about 180 runners, but due to the rapid spread of the infection, all relays on public roads were canceled.

As an alternative event, on the 19th of the first day, the torch ignition ceremony will be held at Okayama Castle in Okayama City from 3:00 pm without spectators.

At Okayama Castle, applicants from the runners who were scheduled to run on the first day will participate, and a "torch kiss" will be held in which the torch is moved in order in a row.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on the Internet.
