The curling mixed doubles world championship, which will take place in the Beijing Olympics, has begun, and Japan's Yurika Yoshida and Yuta Matsumura lost to the Estonian pair 3-10 in the first match of the qualifying league.

The Curling Mixed Doubles World Championship kicked off on the 17th in Scotland, northern England.
