Gymnastics NHK Cup.

Despite injuring both elbows at the All Japan Championship last month, Takeru Kitazono finished the 6th event and finished 9th.

I connected my hopes for the Tokyo Olympics.

Last month's All Japan Championship.

Kitazono took the lead in qualifying, but fell on the horizontal bar in the final and finished 6th.

I also injured both elbows.

After the injury, there was pain in everything he did, and he couldn't even do push-ups or headstands, so he couldn't think of participating in the NHK Cup.

Even so, I couldn't give up my thoughts on the Olympics, and I continued treatment and practice, and I was in good condition.

I was also pushed by the phone call from Kohei Uchimura, saying, "If I did it without giving up, I would come back someday."

It was only four days before the NHK Cup that I was able to perform through the sixth event.

It is far from perfect condition, and considering the burden on the elbow, the difficulty of the technique is reduced compared to the All Japan Championship with rings and horizontal bars.

At the NHK Cup, Kitazono performed all of the 6th performance.

He finished in 9th place, saying, "My body moved freely," and connected my hopes for the Tokyo Olympics.

After the competition, Kitazono said about the condition of his right elbow, "I feel the possibility of recovery to a surprising degree in the last few days."

"I think that if you take good care of each day, your performance will be finished, so I want to take good care of you," he said, looking ahead to next month's All Japan Championship, which will be the final selection.
