Senegalese referee Majetti Nday surprised the fans by not counting a penalty kick in favor of Al-Ahly during his match with its South African guest Sun Downs, on Saturday, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the African Champions League football that ended Ahlawiya with two clean goals.

Nday had overlooked the penalty kick at the 35th minute, when Ugandan Dennis Onyango, Sun Downs goalkeeper, jumped to pick up the ball, but kicked his foot in the back of Al-Ahly striker, Mohamed Sharif, who was surprised by the referee as the case was wrongly counted by his colleagues and the technical staff.

Al-Ahly fans, on social media, circulated pictures of the situation, dissatisfied with the African whistle in the absence of the (mouse).

It is noteworthy that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided not to use video technology (mouse) in the Champions League quarter-finals matches.
