Robert Lewandowski took a deep breath.
Then jumped briefly in the air and ran in his typical way to the penalty kick.
The FC Bayern striker delayed the start and sent Freiburg's goalkeeper into the wrong corner.
Lewandowski sank the penalty in the 26th minute to make it 1-0 for Munich.
It wasn't an ordinary penalty, it was a penalty for the ages.
It was Lewandowski's 40th goal of the season, so he equalized Gerd Müller's Bundesliga record from the 1971/72 season.
"Forever Gerd"
After the penalty kick, the Pole sprinted to Bayern Bank and let his teammates celebrate.
The teammates stood in line for their striker.
Lewandowski presented a T-shirt in honor of Müller under his jersey.
A photo of Müller was printed on the shirt, underneath the slogan: "Forever Gerd".

The 32-year-old only needed 28 games for the 40 goals this season.
Lewandowski has always scored at least one goal in the past eleven games.
Gerd Müller's record was long considered unattainable.
But already last season Lewandowski came dangerously close to the nation's bomber with 34 goals.
For Lewandowski it is another milestone in his career.
He has already been the top scorer in the Bundesliga five times: in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020. “It doesn't help if you want it too bad,” he said a week ago after his three-pack in the 6-0 win of the German champions against Borussia Mönchengladbach said of his record hunt.
With 276 Bundesliga goals, the former Borussia Dortmund player is second on the all-time goalscorer list, behind former Bayern striker Müller (365 goals).
Lewandowski may also be able to attack this record in the coming years.
His current contract in Munich runs until June 30, 2023.
